Robert Downey Jr's Name Gets Omitted From Avengers: Endgame Nomination List For Oscars 2020; Fans Are Furious With Disney
Disney has released the list of nominations and categories it has made to Oscars with regards to Avengers: Endgame. Sadly, the name of Robert Downey Jr who essayed the role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the films has no mention. Fans expected his name in the Best Actor category and for nothing else but the end scene where he scarifies himself to save the world. Iron Man dies in Avengers: Endgame and it is one emotional moment for all his fans and certainly, they are quite disappointed to not see him in the running for Best Actor Awards at Oscars.

His fans have taken Twitter by storm criticizing Disney for not campaigning for Robert. One of the users wrote, “Shame Disney isn't campaigning Robert Downey Jr for Best Actor. Dude brought his A Game every single time. Even though he'll never have that Oscar statue, at least we know he did a damn good job.” Another Twitter user who seemed extremely disappointed with Disney’s decision tweeted, “I think Robert Downey Jr's performance in Endgame is the best in the MCU and one of the best in any superhero movie. So yeah, I think the man deserves an Oscar nomination. Ya'll can stay mad.” (Also Read: Iron Man Robert Downey Jr To Return To MCU In Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow?)

Oscars, by far, hasn’t quite acknowledged the performance of the stars in Superhero franchises. Except for Heath Ledger who won an Oscar for the portrayal of Joker in The Dark Knight film, none of the superheroes have won the prestigious academy award. Hence, Robert’s fans are angry as Disney is not even campaigning for him.  Check out a few tweets slamming Disney over this decision below:

Avengers: Endgame is in the running for categories like Best Editing, Best Director, Production Design, Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Visual Effects at Oscars 2020.
